One of only two ITA Champions in school history (Hall of Famer Roman Pavlik), Jose Rodriguez ‘09 set the tone for Bryant’s successful transition to Division I. Part of the first recruiting class for current coach Ron Gendron, Rodriguez joined the Bulldogs as a junior transfer and helped Bryant achieve its first national ranking in school history, as well as 2008 Northeast-10 Conference Regular-Season and Tournament titles.

Earning more than 18 wins during his career at No. 1 and No. 2 singles play, Rodriguez went undefeated in NE-10 play in 2008, earning all-conference honors in both singles and doubles. In 2008, he posted a 21-4 record in capturing the conference championship and helped guide Bryant into the second round of the NCAA tournament.
