Bryant University Sports Performance is dedicated to providing student-athletes with cutting edge training facilities and a scientifically grounded system to maximize athletic potential, minimize injury risk, and cultivate a positive training environment. Our commitment to excellence supports Bryant University’s broader mission to “educate and inspire students to discover their passion and become innovative leaders with character around the world.”
Training Philosophy
The Bulldog Sports Performance Department is committed to developing the complete athlete by addressing both the psychological and physiological aspects of training. Accountability, Work ethic, and discipline is the foundation to our culture. Our goal is to prepare student-athletes for competition while minimizing injury risk through a comprehensive approach that includes strength, power, speed, agility, and mobility. To best serve each individual, we implement a performance training model grounded in scientifically proven techniques.
Student athletes are encouraged to concentrate on all aspects of well-rounded training to include:
- Physical
- Mental
- Nutrition
- Regeneration
Below are the expectations of a student athlete:
- Safety
- Only train when a strength coach is present
- Perform reps in a biomechanically sound way
- Having spotters when necessary
- Accountability
- Be on-time
- Train with a partner
- Wear issued gear
- Treat yourself and others with respect
- Be consistent
- Mental
- Challenge yourself to improve with weight and technique
- Get the most out of everyday and every rep that is performed
