Instrumental during Bryant’s transition to Division I, Jerell Smith ‘10 ranks as one of the all-time top running backs in school history. Transferring from Howard University, Smith helped lead Bryant to the 2007 Northeast-10 (Division II) championship in his first year in Smithfield.  In Bryant’s first season competing in Division I in 2008, he rushed for 1,254 yards including 143 yards against Wagner - Bryant’s first Division I win.  Smith currently stands fourth all-time with 3,071 yards, going over 100 yards in 15 games during his career including a career-best 239-yard, three-TD performance in his final game against Saint Francis U on Senior Day.
