Hall of Fame Class of 1990

A longtime friend of Bryant University, Ambrose "Amby" Smith was local sports writer at the Pawtuxet Valley Times who was a founder of Rhode Island's Words Unlimited, the state's organization of sportswriters, sportscasters, and publicists and one of the nation's olded and most active athletic media groups.  The organization began in 1945 when 12 sportswriters and sportscasters joined to honor those individuals who made extraordinary contributions to the state's sports scene.
