Don was the second Bryant basketball player to score 1,000 points. The Newport, RI native reached the 1,000-point mark early in his senior season in 1969-70. His performance during his senior year helped the Indians capture the Naismith Conference title and a berth in the national NAIA tournament, Bryant's first appearance in a national post-season tournament. Despite missing nearly half of his junior season with mononucleosis, he finished his career with 1,203 points. He also was one of the leading hitters for the Bryant baseball team from 1968-70
