Denise was one of Bryant's first outstanding female athletes. She earned 10 varsity letters in three sports - volleyball, basketball, and softball - during her four-year career at Bryant from 1978-82. Despite playing a limited schedule compared to the number of games played by current Bryant women's teams, she still posted an impressive 588 points.

She also was one of the all-time leading rebounders with 420.

Additionally, she was one of Rhode Island's leading female amateur golfers.
