Considered one of the greatest defensive football players not only in Bulldog football history but in the history of the Northeast Conference, defensive lineman Jeff Covitz ‘15 capped off his stellar career as the NEC Defensive Player of the Year and Associated Press All-American.  Named to the Buck Buchanan Award Watch List awarded to the best defensive player in the country, Covitz graduated with 191 total tackles and remains the school’s all-time career leader in sacks (29.5) and tackles for a loss (66). Appearing in 45 games during his career, Covitz played in every game since stepping on campus and was a three-time first-team all-conference selection.  He led the conference in tackles for-a-loss in three seasons and set the conference record with 29.5 career sacks.
