Track and Field

Coast to Coast Dominance; Track and Field breaks eight school records between California and Lowell

AZUSA, Calif. | LOWELL, Mass.- The Bryant University track and field team broke eight school records and tallied 23 all-time top ten times this past week at the Bryan Clay Invitational in California and the George Davis Invitational in Lowell, Massachusetts.

West Coast Highlights

Jasmine Trott set the first record of the week, doing so in the women's 10,000m. Trott reset her previous school record with a time of 33:35.17 to finish second in her heat and knocked an additional 26.59 off of her personal best. Trott most previously reset her record at the 2025 Black and Gold Invitational. She originally broke the mark at the 2024 Black and Gold.

Chloe Whiting continued her stellar junior season in The Golden State, becoming the first women's runner in school history to run a sub 16 minute 5,000m. Whiting finished her race with a time of 15:51.97, shaving 19 seconds off of her previously held record.

Ryan Slaney closed things out on the west coast, recording a time of 13:56.97 in the men's 5,000m. Slaney has put together one of the greatest careers for a Bulldog in program history. He owns the school records in the men's 1,500m, mile, 3,000m, 5,000m, and 10,000m.

Back in the Bay State

Bryant athletes added five more school records at the George Davis Invitational:. Kalen Knott eclipsed the ever sought after mark of 5.00m in the men's pole vault, becoming the first Bryant athlete to do so. Knott has been dominant in the pole vault all season long. He has shattered both the indoor and outdoor marks and took home the gold at the America East indoor Championships back in February. Dasani Stewart also continued her phenomenal 2025 campaign, resetting her school record in the women's triple jump with a mark of 12.02m.

Bryant also had three first time school record breakers this weekend, including two individual records and one relay event.

Matthew Henricksen surpassed Chris Fasano's 2019 mark of 47.84m with a throw of 49.63m, beating out the previous record by 1.79m. With the record, Henricksen jumped from 13th to 3rd in the conference for the event. Henricksen is also 8th all-time in the outdoor shot put (14.40m).

Freshman Ian Thomas broke an 18 year old school record in the men's long jump after jumping 7.07m at Lowell. Thomas moves ahead of Bryant Hall of Famer Hafiz Greigre '07 who had previously held the mark of 7.03m.

The final record of the weekend came in the men's 4x100m relay when Andrew Gleason, Nate Miller, Vince Sivo, and Kevin Brooks ran a combined time of 41.51. This time narrowly beat out the previous time of 41.75 which was set back in 2007 by Lorenzo Perry, Alexander Engel, Joe Brennan, and Hafiz Greigre.
