LOWELL, Mass. - The Black and Gold set three school records at the George Davis Invitational hosted by UMass Lowell. The women's team recorded the most podium placements (14) and gold medals (7) during the meet. The men's team recorded the second-most gold medals (3) during the meet.
Shelby Anderson established the all-time school record in the women's javelin throw, recording a mark of 44.92 meters and the win at the George Davis Invitational.
The historic day for the javelin throwers continued as Aiden Guarneri established the all-time men's javelin school record, recording a mark of 66.57 meters. Guarneri recorded second place in the competition and was followed by freshman Teddy Hughes. Hughes recorded a personal record with a mark of 57.66 meters.
The Black and Gold swept the pole vault. Kalen Knott earned the win and established the all-time school record with a mark of 5.05 meters. Peyton Barron won her respective competition with a mark of 3.45 meters.
Ella Goulas posted a dominant Saturday afternoon in the field events. Goulas won the long jump and triple jump with marks of 5.91 and 11.88 meters, respectively.Â
Aaron Barnwell earned a personal record and the win in the long jump, a mark of 7.07 meters for the sophomore.Â
Jalena Martin and Jordyn Collins earned top-three placements in the 100m dash. Martin won the competition with a time of 12.14 seconds.
Justin Shiffrin had a standout performance in the 1500m. Shiffrin won the competition with a time of 3:55.56.
Kelley MacElhiney earned a personal record and the win in the 3k, recording a time of 9:46.20.
Casey Curran and Isabel Berardino earned top-three placements in the 5k. Berardino recorded a personal record of 17:39.22. Curran won the competition with a time of 17:30.11.
Panayiota Anastos and Kate DeSousa earned second place in the shot put and high jump, respectively.
Sophomore Adriana Spinelli recorded a second-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase.Â
Matthew Henricksen recorded second place in the discus throw.Â
Nathan Miller recorded a third-place finish in the 100m dash.
Kyle Keyes recorded a third-place finish in the 400m hurdles.
