LOWELL, Mass. - The Bryant University track and field program competed in the America East Outdoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend. The Black and Gold combined for 15 medals and three school records. The women's team finished with 121.5 points, recording a third-place performance for a second-consecutive season. The men's team finished in seventh place with 61 points overall.
Kalen Knott improved on his previous personal record to cement himself as the all-time school record holder in the pole vault. Knott earned the gold medal after clearing 5.07 meters.
Kelley MacElhiney established the all time school record in the 1500m. MacElhiney recorded a time of 4:26.98 and earned the silver medal.
Ian Thomas improved on his previous personal record to further cement his status as the all-time school record holder in the long jump. Thomas recorded a mark of 7.16 meters.
Ella Goulas recorded a two-medal weekend. Goulas earned the silver medal in the long jump (5.97 meters) on May 9 and earned the bronze medal in the triple jump on May 10 (11.99 meters).
Jasmine Trott earned the gold medal in the 10k. Trott recorded a time of 33:41.34. Additionally, seniors Chloe Whiting and Jasmine Trott earned top-three placements in the 5k taking place the following day. Whiting earned the gold medal with a time of 16:18.35.
Isabel Berardino earned the silver medal in the 3000m steeplechase. Berardino recorded a time of 10:42.75.
Ashley Brule earned the silver medal in the pole vault. Brule recorded a mark of 3.79 meters.
Amanda Kalinowski earned the silver medal in the heptathlon. The sophomore recorded 4408 points while setting personal records in the 800m (2:30.34) and the javelin throw (37.52 meters)
Shelby Anderson and Aiden Guarneri each earned bronze medals in their respective javelin competitions.
Josiah Johnson earned the bronze medal in the 400m. Johnson secured a personal record, recording a time of 47.77 seconds.
Justin Shiffrin earned the bronze medal in the 5k, recording a time of 14:53.51.
