Whiting named AE Female Track Athlete of the Week

BOSTON- Bryant University distance runner Chloe Whiting was named America East Female Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Whiting became the school record holder in the women's 5,000m after running 16:11.17 on Friday at Boston University's John Thomas Terrier Classic. Whiting shattered the previous school record of 17:11.68 which was set by Eimear Black back in 2013.  Last season, Knott earned a silver medal in the pole vault at the America East Indoor Championships and finished with the bronze at the league outdoor championships.

This is the third school record that Whiting has been a part of this season. She recently helped set the new best school time in the women's 4x800m relay at the URI Invitational on Jan.18. She also had set the school record in the 3,000m before Jasmine Trott reclaimed the title a week later. Whiting currently ranks 49th in the NCAA for the 5,000m.
