BOSTON -- Bryant men's basketball freshman
Timofei Rudovskii was named the America East Rookie of the Week on Monday morning.
The first weekly honor of Rudovskii's career comes after he averaged 17.0 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 3.5 apg and 1.5 spg in games against MAAC members Iona and Marist last week. Bryant has now claimed each of the last three America East Rookie of the Week honors following back-to-back recognitions for
Ty Tabales.
Rudovskii opened the week with his first-career double-double at Iona, finishing with 17 points and 11 rebounds. He hit a season-high five three-pointers and also chipped in four assists, two blocks and two steals. Rudovskii followed that up with 17 more points on Saturday vs Marist, going 5-of-9 from the field. He added six boards and three assists.
On the week, Rudovskii went 11-of-26 from the field and 7-of-14 from beyond the arc. He is now 16-of-32 from three over his seven games and is averaging a team-best 12.5 ppg on the year.Â
Bryant is off this week and will return to the court on December 22 when it travels to North Carolina to take on High Point.
