Aaron Davis III scored a career-high 18 points and
Timofei Rudovskii posted a double-double but the Bryant men's basketball team fell short at Iona, 69-63, on Wednesday night at the Hynes Athletics Center.
With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 3-8 on the year. Bryant returns to the Chace Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon, hosting Marist at 4:00 p.m.
On Wednesday, Bryant erased a double-digit first-half deficit with its best three-point shooting night of the season but could not overcome the Gaels. Bryant rallied from 11 down to tie the game briefly at 32-32 late in the first half, and then tied the game at 48-48 with 13 minutes. Iona closed 7-of-14 from the field and made 6-of-6 from the line to close it out.
Making his first start of the year, Davis went 6-of-8 for three and added three rebounds, two steals and three blocks. Rudovskii added his first collegiate double-double with 17 and 11. He hit 5-of-10 from three and added four assists, two steals and two blocks.
Ashley Sims II chipped in eight points, 12 rebounds and five assists.

How it Happened
- Bryant opened the scoring as Davis knocked down a corner triple.
- Rudovskii helped Bryant keep the early lead as he came up with a huge baseline rejection. He followed with a free-throw line jumper to give the Bulldogs a 5-4 lead at at the under-16.
- CJ Anthony, Iona's leading scorer, then ripped off six-straight points to give the Gaels a 10-5 lead and force a Bryant timeout with 14:01 left in the first half.
- It started a 14-0 run that gave Iona an 18-5 lead with 12:02 left.
- Robinson was able to sink a three on the next Bryant possession as the Bulldogs posted the next five points to make it an eight-point game.
- The Gaels would push the lead back to 11, 24-13, on a three with 6:09 left.
- Bryant would respond by outscoring Iona 19-11 over the final six minutes to make it a three-point game at the half.

- Bryant also blocked a season-high nine shots and has 16 blocks in the last two games.
- A game after having a streak of nine-straight double-digit efforts snapped, Rudovskii scored a career high on a season-best five threes.
