SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Bryant baseball rising senior
Casey Wensley signed a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Angels following the completion of the 2026 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft on Monday morning.
Wensley's lone year with the Bulldogs was an electric one as the lefty-hitting first baseman/outfielder hit .319 with 14 doubles, five triples, 33 RBI, 57 runs scored and stole 30 bases. He became just the second player in DI program history to steal 30+ bases in a single season and also struck out just 17 times, ranking in the top 25 nationally for toughest to strikeout. Wensley shined in league play as well, hitting .330 with a .466 OBP and 28 runs scored. In three collegiate seasons, Wensley produced a .347 average with 178 hits, 35 doubles, 95 RBI, 126 runs scored, 44 stolen bases and just 56 strikeouts in 600 career plate appearances.
