Maddy Wachter was named the America East Pitcher of the Year and head coach
Bianka Bell earned Coach of the Year honors as the Bryant University softball team had seven players named to the All-Conference teams by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.
Wachter was also named to the All-America East First and All-Academic teams. She is joined on the first team by
Gabriella Gesualdo and
Arriana Williams.Â
Laniya Lewis and
Teagan Thompson made the second team, while Allisa West, Thompson, and Williams earned spots on the All-Rookie team.
Bryce Clendenin was named to the All-Academic team.
Maddy Wachter - Pitcher of the Year, First-Team, and All-Academic
- Wachter had a career season, posting career bests in wins (11), ERA (2.95), complete games (11) and opponent batting average (.238).
- She went 11-4 this season, the second straight year of 10+ wins.
- Wachter produced the first sub-three ERA since 2022.
- She went 7-1 in conference play with six CGs, two shutouts, and a WHIP of 1.02.
- First pitcher in DI program history to earn Pitcher of the Year.
Bianka Bell - Coach of the Year
- In her third season, coach Bell led the Bulldogs to a 20-21 overall record and a 16-4 America East record.
- The Black and Gold captured their first America East Regular Season title in DI program history.
- The Bulldogs have won 20+ games in each of her three seasons
- Bell has earned America East Coach of the Year honors twice (2024).
Gabriella Gesualdo - First-TeamÂ
- In her first season with Bryant, Gesualdo recorded 28 hits, four doubles, one triple, three home runs, 20 RBI, and a batting average of .289.
- She had six multi-hit games and four multi-RBI games.
- In America East play, Gesualdo tallied a .343 average with a 1.014 OPS, 12 hits, five XBH, and ten RBI.
Arriana Williams - First-Team and All-Rookie
- As a freshman, Williams registered a .297 average, 33 hits, three doubles, and two triples. ten RBI, 35 runs, and 17 stolen bases.
- Williams' mark of 17 stolen bases is the second-most in DI program history.
- She had seven games with 2+ hits and recorded a career-high two RBI in three games.
- Williams batted .425 in AE play with a 1.074 OPS, 17 hits, 17 runs, and eight RBI.
Laniya Lewis - Second-Team
- Lewis recorded career-highs in hits (25), doubles (3), batting average (.298), and slugging percentage (.476).
- She also had two home runs and 12 RBI, her second consecutive season of 10+ RBI.
- She went on a five-game hit streak from (4/11 - 4/18).
- In conference games, she led the team with a .441 average and a 1.243 OPS, while tallying 15 hits and nine RBI.
Teagan Thompson - Second-Team and All-Rookie
- Thompson registered 21 hits, 11 runs, four doubles, two home runs, and 15 RBI in her first collegiate season.
- She had three multi-hit games, including a career-high three hits against Abilene Christian (Feb. 7).
- Thompson posted a .300 average in AE games, with nine hits, three doubles, and four RBI.
Alissa West - All-Rookie
- West posted 25 hits, a .352 average, two doubles, one triple, and 12 RBI as a freshman.
- She had six multi-hit games, including a career-high three hits versus UAlbany (Mar. 22), where she also knocked in a career-high four RBI.
- West had a .364 average in conference play with a .955 OPS, eight hits, and six RBI.
Bryce Clendenin - All-Academic
- Clendenin tallied 35 hits, a .354 average, eight doubles, three home runs, and 25 RBI; all marks lead the team.
- She had ten multi-hit games and seven with 2+ RBI.
- She posted a .333 average, .992 OPS, 12 hits, and ten RBI in conference play.
