Lexi Powell threw the first postseason shutout in DI program history as the top-seed Bryant University softball team kept its season alive with an 8-0 win over third-seeded UAlbany in game five of the 2026 America East softball Championships.
Alissa West hit a solo home run, and
Gabriella Gesualdo had her second multi-hit game of the day.

How it Happened
- Arriana Williams drew a lead-off walk and then advanced to third on two wild pitches. Jadyn Jenks then walked, and then both Williams and Jenks executed a double steal (1-0). Gabriella Gesualdo laid down a bunt, bringing home Jenks (2-0). Gesualdo stole home for the Bulldogs' third run in the bottom of the first (3-0).
- In the bottom of the fourth, West hit a solo home run (4-0). Jaelyn Lee and Williams hit back-to-back singles. Jenks then slapped an RBI-double down the right field line (5-0). During the next at-bat, Gesualdo hit a single up the middle, scoring two (7-0).
- Teagan Thompson hit a lead-off single, Nea Plisko pinch ran, and then advanced to second on a wild pitch. UAlbany would commit a throwing error, allowing Plisko to score and ending the game in the bottom of the fifth (8-0).
