BOSTON -- Bryant baseball senior Ellis Garcia was named the America East Player of the Week on Tuesday morning.

Garcia earns his first player of the week honor after posting a 1.436 OPS in four games last week. He went 6-for-14 with two home runs, six RBI and four runs scored, while also drawing four walks and striking out just once.

In Bryant's series victory over UAlbany, Garcia posted a slash line of .555/.692/1.222, hit a pair of home runs and drove in six to help the Bulldogs take two-of-three. Garcia went 2-for-2 with a home runs, two walks, two RBI and two runs scored in the series opener. In Sunday's finale, Garcia's first-career grand slam expanded Bryant's lead to 10-5 and set the tone for another run-rule victory.

Garcia is now hitting .350 with a 1.083 OPS on the year, collecting seven doubles, three triples, seven home runs, 28 RBI and 26 runs scored. He also owns a .457 OBP and is 7-of-7 in stolen base attempts.

Bryant is set to host URI on Tuesday afternoon before traveling to Binghamton for a showdown with the first-place Bearcats this weekend.
