SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. - The Bryant Track and Field team continued their indoor season in the Ocean State at the URI Invitational.
Chloe Whiting won the 3000 meter run, finishing with a time of 9:44.10. Additionally, Casey Curran earned a second place finish. Curran finished with a time of 9:51.68 as the only other runner to record a time less than 10 minutes. The Black and Gold saw four women round out the top six as Kelley MacElhiney and Isabel Berardino earned fourth and sixth respectively.
Emma Guadagnoli and Ava Burl finished as the two top fastest runners in the 800 meter dash. Guadagnoli earned the victory with a mark of 2:16.79 seconds. Burl earned a personal record with a time of 2:17.06 seconds.
First year Madison Guerrera won the 60m hurdles, finishing with a time of 9.02 seconds.
Justin Shiffrin, Ryan Bourke, Cole Varner and Lazo Slijepcevic earned first place in the men's 4x800m relay with a time of 8:11.64.
Kate DeSousa improved upon her personal and all-time school record in the high jump. DeSousa earned second place with a mark of 1.68, improving on the record she set last month at the Alden Invitational. Junior Ashley Brule earned second place in the pole vault.
First years excelled in the triple jump for the Black and Gold. Ella Goulas earned second place in the triple jump. Goulas recorded a mark of 11.84 meters, 0.5 meters ahead of the next best jumper. Freshman Jalen Wise earned second place in the triple jump with a mark of 13.83 meters. Additionally, Goulas recorded a fourth place finish in the high jump wit a mark of 1.65 meters.
Freshman Jack Moir earned a personal record and third place in the 3000 meter run with a time of 8:43.93. Aiden Masse recorded a fourth place finish with a time of 8:50.23.
Sophomore Jalena Martin earned second place in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.79 seconds.
Junior Nathan Miller finished the 200 meter dash in second place with a time of 22.97 seconds.
Sarina Sanders earned third place in the long jump with a leap of 5.34 meters. Brie Salomao rounded out the top 10 with a mark of 5.03 meters. Sanders recorded fifth place in the triple jump while Salomao recorded eighth.
Seniors Kayla Ondy and Justin Shiffrin excelled in the one mile run. Ondy earned third place in the one mile run with a time of 5:10.88. Shiffrin earned second place with a time of 4:21.57.
Freshman Lazo Slijepcevic earned a personal record in the 800 meter run, getting under the two-minute barrier with a time of 1:57.70.
Panayiota Anastos earned fifth place in the shot put with a mark of 11.82 meters. Suraily Sam and Ava Pilderian round out the top 10 at seventh and ninth place respectively. Anastos recorded an eighth place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 13.56 meters.Â
Freshman Darius Smith earned fourth place in the shot put with a mark of 15.14 meters. Sophomore Cooper Conklin recorded a sixth place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 15.19 meters.
Ryan Bourke recorded a fifth place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.95 seconds. Toby Ruffo recorded a seventh place finish with a time of 52.47 seconds.
Lauren Haddad earned a fourth place finish in the 500 meter run with a time of 1:19.63 seconds.
Sophomores Aaron Barnwell and Ian Thomas earned seventh and eighth place respectively in the long jump. Barnwell recorded 6.79 meters and Thomas recorded 6.78 meters. Thomas earned a sixth place in the high jump with a mark of 1.92 meters.
Chance Decrescenzo and Colby Nyhan tied for seventh place in the pole vault with a mark of 4.45 meters. Alexander Campbell finished behind the two of them with a mark of 4.30 meters.
Amanda Broussard recorded a 10th place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.02.
