Maddy Wachter of the Bryant University softball team pitched a complete game shutout, striking out a career-high 11 and holding Lafayette to four hits in the 3-0 victory on Friday.
McKenzie McAloon hit a two-RBI double in game one.
Makenna Coleman hit a grand slam, and
Laniya Lewis hit a solo home run during the loss to Eastern Kentucky.

Key Moment
- In the top of the second, EKU had the bases loaded with no outs, and then Wachter recorded three straight outs, including two strikeouts, to keep the game tied at zero.
How it Happened (GM1)
- Alexis Larrow began the bottom of the fourth, taking a first base on an HBP. Bryce Clendenin then hit a single, advancing Larrow to third. Clendenin stole second base with runners on the corners, setting up McAloon, who cleared the bases with an RBI double up in the middle (2-0).
- A pitch hit Clendenin on the opening at-bat of the bottom of the sixth inning and was pinch run for by Jaiden McKenna. Sam Rohwer reached on an error, and McAloon advanced on a fielder's choice, which led to an RBI double from Cochran (3-0).

- The Colonels tallied five runs in the bottom of the second inning off of a single and double (6-0).
- In the top of the third inning, McAloon, Jaelyn Lee, and Cochran reached base in succession and then Coleman launched a Grand Slam to left-center, cutting the deficit to two (6-4). On the next at-bat Lewis hit a solo HR to center field (6-5). The bases were then reloaded, and Lee drew a walk to tie the game at six. Next up was Cochran, who hit a single through the left side of the infield to give the Bulldogs the lead (7-6).
- EKU tied the game in the bottom of the fourth stealing home on a strikeout (7-7).
