Bryant to compete in Campbell Tournament in N.C on Friday and Saturday

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - The Bryant University softball team will compete in the Campbell Softball tournament on Friday and Saturday in North Carolina.

The Bulldogs will face Lafayette College, Eastern Kentucky, and tournament host Campbell.

Series History
  • The Bulldogs are 3-0 all-time against Lafayette, with the last match-up last year resulting in a 4-3 victory for the Black and Gold.
  • This is the second time Bryant will face Eastern Kentucky. The Colonels defeated the Bulldogs 12-1 in 2011.
  • The Black and Gold are 0-3 all-time against Campbell. This will be the first time the two teams have met since 2016.
Bulldogs Notes and Notables
  • Laniya Lewis had five hits, four RBI, and her first career home run last weekend. She posted an average of .455, which led the team.
  • Makenna Coleman Meaghan Houk both tallied five hits and went yard in Texas. 
  • Alexis Larrow hit her second home run as a Bulldog over the weekend.
  • Maddy Wachter picked up her first career victory, pitching a complete game against Texas A&M Corpus Christi, striking out five, and holding the Islanders to three hits and two runs.
Scouting the Competition
  • Lafayette will begin their 2025 season this weekend. Regan Dillon returns after tallying eight RBI last year.
  • Eastern Kentucky heads into the tournament with a 3-2 record. Reese Knox is top of the team with a .333 batting average. Victoria Byrum and Maddi Rutan both tallied ten strikeouts over the weekend.
  • The Camels are 4-1 to start the season. Charlie Montgomery and Hannah Cornetto both are hitting above .400.
