SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University softball team defeated UMass Lowell 8-5 and 5-1 on the road.

Hannah Cochran hit a solo home run in the first game, and Alexis Clancy tied her career-high of four hits in the game two victory.

• Kenney got the last out of the seventh with the tying run at the plate.

How it Happened (Gm1)

• In the bottom of the first, UML scored two runs on a Bulldog throwing error.
• Cochran hit a leadoff double in the top of the second inning, leading to a McKenzie McAloon single up the middle, cutting the deficit to one (2-1).
• During the top of the third inning, Makenna Coleman and Aleix Hudson hit consecutive singles, followed by a Megan Marcel single with one out. Cochran and Aleix Larrow then hit a single and double, tallying three runs for Bryant (4-2). The Black and Gold scored their fourth run of the inning on a groundout (5-2).
• Hudson drew a walk with two outs and Alexis Clancy hit a single, resulting in an RBI single for Marcel to left field (6-2) in the top of the fourth inning.
• Cochran hit a leadoff home run in the top of the seventh, followed by another run on a UML error (8-2).
• In the bottom of the seventh, the River Hawks scored three runs on a solo HR and two-run hr (8-5).

• During the bottom of the third, UML hit an RBI single, scoring one (4-1).
• Bryant executed a double steal with runners on the corners in the top of the fourth for the game's final run (5-1).
