Probable Starting Pitchers

Friday - Austin Wainer vs. Michael Foltz
Saturday - Luke Delongchamp vs. Graham Jeffries
Sunday - Tyler Horvat vs. Teddy Brennan

  • Wainer made his first-career Opening Day start last weekend, allowing three runs (two earned) over 3.2 innings. He walked two, struck out two and surrendered four hits. It marked the second-longest start of his career.
  • Luke Delongchamp and Tyler Horvart are scheduled to make their Bryant debuts this weekend after their starts last weekend got washed away by the rain.
  • GWU's weekend rotation combined to allow just 10 hits in 10.2 innings last week. They also walked 10 and struck out 10.
  • Michael Foltz had the best start of the weekend, allowing four runs (one earned) on just two hits in 4.0 innings on Opening Day.

Bryant vs. GWU

  • Bryant and George Washington will be meeting for the first time in program history.
  • This weekend will be the first of two consecutive weekends the Bulldogs will spend in the D.C. area. Bryant will face Maryland next weekend.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Bryant opened its season last weekend at UCF but was only able to play one game due to heavy rain. The Bulldogs fell 12-11 on Opening Day.
  • The Bulldogs had a 6-3 lead before UCF scored eight times in the sixth. Bryant would rally to tie the game in the 8th before a UCF sac fly in the bottom of the eighth provided the final margin.
  • Gavin Noriega came out swinging for Bryant, collecting three hits and two home runs in his 2024 debut. He homered in back-to-back at-bats in the 7th and 8th inning.
  • Gavin Greger and Justin Hackett also collected three hits for the Bulldogs in the opener.
  • For Greger, it marked his collegiate debut.
  • Bryant did have a couple more offensive highlights in game two of the series before Mother Nature nullified them. Carmine Petosa hit a grand slam and Ryan Santangelo hit a three-run home run before rain suspended the game before it had become official.
