- The Friars scored the game's first run on a double to right-center in the bottom of the first inning (1-0). PC added two more with a home run (3-0).
- During the bottom of the second inning, Providence posted three runs with a solo and two-run home run (6-0).
- McKenzie McAloon was hit by a pitch to begin the top of the third inning. Aleix Hudson then reached on an error, which set up Jenna Gardner, who got the Bulldogs on the board with a double to left field (6-1).
- In the top of the fourth inning, Carlyn Hernandez was walked, and then McAloon sent a double down the left-field line for Bryant's second run (6-2).
- The Black and Gold recorded back-to-back walks with the bases loaded to get within two (6-4) in the top of the fifth inning.
- In the top of the sixth inning, Allison Tomaino hit a single past the pitcher, and then Hudson launched a two-run home run over the left-field wall to tie the game at six. Jenna Gardner hit a double after, and Courtney Paolantonio brought her home with a single to give the Bulldogs the lead (7-6).
