SOFTBALL WRAPS-UP PLAY AT CENTENARY
TOURNAMENT WITH, 9-0, LOSS TO BOSTON COLLEGE

SHREVEPORT, LA - Taylor Peyton and April Kidd combined for a
five inning, no-hit shutout to lead Boston College past Bryant
Sunday morning, 9-0, in the final game of the Centenary Tournament
in Shreveport, Louisiana, as the Bulldogs wrapped-up their first
ever Division I tournament.
Bryant (0-5) managed to get two runners on in the game, as
Kim Leonard (Milford, Mass. / Milford) worked a
walk in the first while Renee Chapman (Fairfax, Calif. /
Sir Francis Drake) earned a base-on-balls in the fourth.
Neither player was able to move past first base.
The Eagles (2-3) jumped on Bryant in the first inning,
tallying three runs as Tunstall doubled in a pair to get Boston
College going. Tunstall went three-for-three with two doubles and
four RBI. The top three hitters for the Eagles combined to go
7-for-10 in the game with five runs scored and five RBI, as leadoff
hitter Wilkins went two-for-three and shortstop Delagramatti went
two-for-four with an RBI.
BC scored four more times in the fourth and twice in the fifth
while holding Bryant scoreless to end the game after five due to
the eight-run rule. Samantha Houseal (Mount Joy, Pa.
/ Donegal) went 3.1 innings allowing seven runs and
striking out four while Stephanie Barrett (Plaistow, N.H. /
Timberlane Regional) went 1.2 innings giving up two runs
and striking out one.
Bryant next plays in the Florida Gulf Coast tournament on
February 27 through March 1.
