Bulldogs fall to #17 Stonehill 92-80
Smithfield, RI - The Bryant
University women's basketball team welcomed the
17th ranked Stonehill Skyhawks to the Chace Athletic
Center on Saturday afternoon for a Northeast-10 conference tilt.
The Bulldogs fell to the undefeated Skyhawks 92-80 in a high paced
game. Stonehill improves to 13-0 and 8-0 in the NE-10. Bryant drops
to 6-7 overall and 1-6 in conference play.
Shannon Perry (Providence, RI) had another
outstanding game for the Bulldogs putting in 21 points on 8-12
shooting and grabbing 18 rebounds, just three shy of the school
record. Perry got Bryant off to a fast start and kept them in the
game in the first half scoring 16 with nine rebounds. Junior
Joanna Skiba (Providence, RI) tied her career high
with a game high 26 points and dished out six assists.
The game was tight throughout the entire first half but Stonehill
finished the last five minutes on a 16-5 run to give them a four
point lead heading into the locker room. Junior Kim
Morast (Bridgewater, MA) led the Skyhawks with 21 points
including four three-pointers. Fellow juniors Alisha
Collins (Port Chester, NY) with 16 points and
Tiffany Huggins (Stoughton, MA) with 10 points
helped lift Stonehill to the victory.
Bryant University will travel to Merrimack on Tuesday with a tip
time of 5:30pm.
