Gabriella Gesualdo,
Arriana Williams, and
Maddy Wachter were named the America East Player, Rookie, and Pitcher of the week by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.
This is the first time in program history that the Bulldogs have swept the America East Weekly awards.
In the series against UMass Lowell, Wachter went 1-1, and in game one, she threw a complete-game shutout, striking out a season-high seven and holding the River Hawks to one hit. She is 3-1 in AE play with three CGs, 14 Ks, a 2.84 ERA, and a .91 WHIP. Wachter is 4-0 in her last four starts with four complete games, a 1.62 ERA, and 17 strikeouts. This is the second time this season Wachter has earned this award and the third in her career.
Gesualdo tallied four hits, including a double, triple, and home run over the weekend. She had a 1.250 slugging percentage and a batting average of .500. She had two multi-hit games, which were the fourth and fifth of the season for her. This is the first time in her career that Gesualdo has earned this award.
Williams recorded two hits, including her second career triple against the River Hawks. She drew seven walks and led the team with an on-base percentage of .818. She also stole a base. This is the first time Williams has received this award in her career.
This is the fifth time that the Bulldogs have earned AE weekly awards this year.
