BOSTON -- Bryant women's lacrosse freshman Julia Girard was named the America East Co-Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Girard earns the honor after setting the single-game program record with 17 draw controls in Bryant's 22-6 win over UMBC on Saturday. The 17 draw controls are the fourth-most by a freshman in the country this season.

Girard now ranks 30th nationally in draw controls per game and sixth amongst freshman.
