HILBURGER THROWS COMPLETE GAME BUT BULLDOGS FALL TO BINGHAMTON, 4-2

How it Happened
  • Bryant scored in the top of the first but couldn't make more out of an inning that featured four walks. Wensley walked to start the game, stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Binghamton, however, got a big first out as Gavin Greger was caught stealing at second after drawing a walk. Wensley would eventually come around to score on a wild pitch with two outs but Bryant stranded two men.
  • The Bulldogs had a chance to expand the lead in the second as two walks and a sac bunt put runners on second and third and sent the Bearcats to the bullpen. Jake Dally entered and induced a foul pop and a line drive to second to strand the runners.
  • Binghamton used the momentum in the bottom of the inning as Steven Kraus walked to start the inning and Tommy Popoff hit an opposite field home run to right to make it 2-1.
  • The Bearcats extended their lead to 3-1 in the third as two singles and a sac bunt led to a sac fly from Matt Bolton.
  • Bryant loaded the bases with no outs in fifth and a sac fly from Hunter Kingsbury made it 3-2. Vincent Luther, however, got a pair of strikeouts to strand the bases loaded.
  • Binghamton added an insurance run in the eighth as Sean Sweeney singled to center with two outs.
  • The Bulldogs put the leadoff man on in the ninth but a double play ended the game.
