Casey Wensley and
Carlos Irizarry combine for seven hits, three RBI and seven runs scored as the Bryant baseball team picked up a series victory with a 12-6 win over Radford on Sunday afternoon at Sherman Carter Memorial Stadium.
With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 4-5 on the year. Bryant has now won two of its first three series for the first time since 2019. The Bulldogs are scheduled to play their home opener on Tuesday.
The Black and Gold recorded double-digit runs for the second-straight game as they finished with 12 hits and also stole six bases. Wensley led the way with four hits, three RBI and four runs scored, while Irizarry posted three and scored three times.
Aidan Vining earned his first win of the year with 3.2 innings of one-run relief as the Bryant bullpen combined to limit Radford to one run on four hits over 6.2 innings.

How it Happened
- The teams combined for 12 runs over the first three innings on Sunday. Bryant loaded the bases with no outs in the first and scored runs on a Charlie Saul ground out and a Zac Zyons safety squeeze.
- Radford answered with four runs in the bottom of the first. Devin Parks had the big swing, hitting an opposite field three-run home run to give the Highlanders a 4-2 lead.
- Bryant quickly responded, loading the bases with no outs to start the second. Wensley then hit a slicing drive to left center that alluded both outfielders and scored all three runs. Wensley would then come home on a Gavin Greger ground out.
- The Highlanders tacked on a run in the bottom of the second but Ellis Garcia turned an inning-ending 5-3 double play to keep Bryant ahead.
- Bryant would extend its lead in third as Zyons reached on an error, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a Justin Hackett ground out.
- Radford would make it 7-6 with a run off of Vining in the fifth.
- Bryant answered with three runs in the top of the sixth. Story started the scoring with a home run to right center. Irizarry and Wensley then singled to extend the inning, ultimately scoring on a balk and a Greger single to make it 10-6.
- The Black and Gold closed out their scoring with two runs in the eighth. Irizarry scored the first run as he broke for home and was awarded the base on a catcher's balk. Wensley scored the final run as he stole third and raced all the way home as the ball got away from the catcher.
