LEXINGTON, VA. -- The Bryant women's swimming and diving 200 medley team broke school, conference, meet and pool records to help propel the Bulldogs into first place after day one of the 2026 America East Swimming and Diving Championships.
Bryant closed out day one with 114 points, 18 more than second-place UMBC and 20 more than third-place and defending champion New Hampshire.

Notes and Notables
- Clara Steen, Jocie Niemczyk, Ruby Tonelli-Smith and Marcella Figueroa opened the championships in explosive fashion, winning gold in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:39.62. The finish, more than two seconds faster than the second place team, set program, meet, conference and pool records.
- Bryant's 800 free relay team of Niemczyk, Katherine Bailey, Jill Carline and Makayla Pearce closed the first night with a silver. The quartet finished in 7:20.92, just behind the winning time of 7:20.52.
- On the boards, Megan Beasley took home silver in the 1 meter dive with a score of 258.95.
- Molly Gordon finished fifth with a score of 234.65.

Day two of the America East Championships begins at 10:00 a.m. with preliminary heats in the 3 meter dive, 500 free, 200 IM and 50 free. Finals will begin at 5:30 p.m.
