BOSTON -- Bryant baseball junior
Casey Wensley was named the America East Player of the Week on Tuesday, the league office announced.
Wensley was a key part of Bryant's season-opening series victory at Davidson. He went 7-for-11 with a home run, five RBI and five runs scored. Wensley finished the weekend with a 1.576 OPS.
The Raynham, Mass., native started at first base in all three games and collected a pair of multi-hit outings. Wensley went 2-for-4 with an RBI in his Bryant debut in the opener and closed the series by going 4-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and three runs scored. He tied the game in the second with a two-run home run and added RBI singles in the sixth and seventh innings to help Bryant earn an 8-5 victory.Â
Bryant returns to the diamond this weekend when it travels to No. 19 Clemson for a three-game series beginning Friday.
