BAILEY’S POOL RECORD HIGHLIGHTS FRIDAY VICTORY OVER BRIDGEPORT

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- Katherine Bailey set a new pool record in the 200 yard freestyle on Friday night as the Bryant University Women's Swimming and Diving Program cruised to a 186-92 victory over the University of Bridgeport. The Bulldogs will be back in action next month at the America East Championships.

COACH CAMERON'S COMMENTS

"Great way to end the dual meet season with two big wins. I thought both our teams competed at a high level, and congratulations to Trenery and Bailey for breaking the pool records. This was a good meet to get us going into championship season coming up in a few weeks."

HOW IT HAPPENED

Bailey claimed the pool record in the women's 200 yard free, winning the event in 1:52.38. Jocie Niemczyk ( 1:57.67) and Jacqui Fox (2:02.38) took the remaining two spots in the event.
The Bulldogs took first and third place in the women's 200 yard medley relay. The top group, led by Clara Steen, Jocie Niemczyk, Ruby Tonelli-Smith, and Marcella Figueroa finished in 1:45.34. The third place group comprised of Regan Fried, Ella Witteveen, Ava Mustacciuolo, and Megan Diamond finished in 1:54.45.
Makayla Pearce (10:20.92), Anna Jackson (10:54.33), and Kaitlyn Burk (11:02.65) swept the 1,000 yard free.
Martha Sell (59.06) and Ava Mustacciuolo (1:01.97) took the top two seeds in the 100 yard backstroke.
Addison Abreu won the women's 100 yard breaststroke in 1:10.63. Sabrina Schuster finished third in 1:11.32.
Amanda Witkus (2:08.36) and Burk (2:12.39) took the top two spots in the women's 200 fly.
Sofia Doersch (24.92) and Diamond (25.21) finished 1-2 in the women's 50 free.
Figueroa (54.17), Archambeault (54.26), and Aurelie Honsberger went 1-2-3 in the 100 free.
Steen (2:04.87), Bailey (2:08.66), and Elisie Richarson (2:10.48) took the top three spots in 200 back.
Diamond (2:29.24) and Jackson (2:25.89) went 1-2 in the 200 yard breaststroke.
Megan Beasley, Molly Gordon, and Avery Bischoff went 1-2-3 in the 1-meter dive. The trio then followed it up by sweeping the 3-meter.

UP NEXT
The Bulldogs return to action next month for the 2026 America East Swimming and Diving Championships. Competition will run from Feb 18-21 and will be hosted by VMI.
