SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Jean-Christophe Baril, Otakar Ungerman, Marcus Macaulay, and Daniel Baquero of the Bryant University men's tennis team have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team for 2025. This is each of the student-athletes first CSC Academic All-District team honors.
The 2025 Academic All-District Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Baril has a 3.83 GPA as a finance major as well as a 4.00 in fall 2024. He went 7-10 in singles, 3-5 in dual matches playing primarily in the No. 6 spot. Baril posted singles wins over Quinnipiac, LIU, and Bentley. He finished the season with a 9-14 doubles record, 8-10 in dual matches with Marcus Macaulay, playing primarily at the No. 2 spot.
Ungerman, an arts and creative industry major, has a 3.81 GPA to end 2024. On the court, he went 10-17 in singles, 8-11 in dual matches playing in the No. 1 spot. Ungerman posted wins over Temple, Binghamton, and Quinnipiac. He would record a 7-6 doubles record with Sepher Raissi, playing in the No. 1 spot, and collected wins over Harvard, Nicholls State, and Brown.
Macaulay has a 3.6 GPA as a global supply chain management major. He went 3-4 in singles, 0-1 in dual matches. He finished the season with a 9-14 doubles record with J-C Baril, 8-10 in dual matches…played primarily at the No. 2 spot.
Baquero, a finance major, has a 3.61 GPA to end 2024. On the court, he went 17-12 in singles, 11-6 in dual matches playing primarily in the No. 5 or No. 6 spot. Baquero posted a 16-7 record in doubles play, 13-4 in dual matches alongside Myles Peterson. The duo played primarily in the No. 3 spot. He was also named Southland Conference Player of the Week in mid-march.
