LEXINGTON, S.C. – The Bryant men's tennis team fell to the Longwood Lancers in the First Round of the Big South Championship by a final score of 4-3.
The Bulldogs got off to a strong start, securing the doubles point to go up 1-0 in the match.
Daniel Baquero and
Miguel Angel Machado earned the win at No. 1 doubles (6-4) and
Will Pellegrini and
Myles Peterson earned the win at No. 2 doubles (6-2).
The strong play from Pellegrini and Baquero carried over into singles play. Pellegrini picked up the win at No. 2 singles (6-1, 6-4) and Baquero picked up the win at No. 5 singles (6-4, 6-0).
Despite the hot start from the Bulldogs, the Lancers rallied to win four singles matches to pick up the 4-3 victory.
