SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Kylie Kenney pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts, while Alexis Clancy hit her seventh home run of the season in the Bryant University softball team's 2-1 victory at Conaty Park against UMBC in game one.

During game two, the Black and Gold fell to the Retrievers 7-2.

• Clancy hit a go-ahead solo home run in the bottom of the sixth.

How it Happened (GM1)

• In the bottom of the first, Hannah Cochran was hit by a pitch, followed by a Makenna Coleman single. Both runners then stole base. Aleix Hudson hit a fly ball to left field, and then the UMBC cutoff woman threw it past the shortstop, allowing Cochran to score (1-0).
• The Retrievers tied the game in the top of the third inning off of a single (1-1).
• Clancy hit a go-ahead leadoff solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning (2-1).

• In the bottom of the second inning, Clancy knocked a leadoff single and advanced to third on a ground out and wild pitch. Then, on the fourth ball during a McKenzie McAloon at-bat, it was a wild pitch, allowing Clancy to score (1-0).
• UMBC scored three runs in the top of the fourth on two singles (3-1).
• In the top of the sixth, the Retrievers scored two runs on two singles (5-1).
• In the top of the seventh, UMBC hit a two-run home run (7-1).
• Sam Rohwer reached on an error and then advanced to second on a groundout. Coleman then hit a single to center, scoring a run (7-2), in the bottom of the seventh.
