STORRS, Conn. – The Bryant University baseball team fell to No. 20 UConn, 11-3, on Tuesday afternoon at Elliot Ballpark.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 13-15 overall and 2-2 in midweek games.

Jake Gustin, John Hosmer and Jackson Phinney drove in runs for the Bulldogs. Bryant used eight pitchers on the afternoon.

• UConn broke a 2-2 with two runs without the benefit of a hit in the fourth.

How it Happened

• UConn opened the scoring in the first. Austin Wainer retired the first two batters of the game but a line drive off Wainer gave UConn a runner. A 2-out double made it 1-0.
• Bryant tied the game in the top of the third as Gustin ripped one into the left center gap, sending Phinney home from first to make it 1-1.
• The Huskies got the run back in the third with an RBI ground out.
• Bryant tied the game up in the top of the fourth as three walks brought home a run. Phinney drew the free pass that tied the game.
• In the bottom of the fourth, a walk and a HBP put two on. After a sac bunt, a ground out and an infield error brought home two runs.
• The Huskies then plated three runs with two outs in the fifth. UConn added two more runs in the sixth.
• UConn closed the scoring with a two-run home run in the eighth.
