BRYANT BASEBALL SWEEPS TWO FROM ASSUMPTION

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Bryant University baseball team picked a
doubleheader sweep of Assumption College in Northeast-10 Conference
action. The Bulldogs won the opener, 10-1 and rallied back to
win the second, 11-2 to improve to 23-12 overall and 13-4 in the
NE-10. The Bulldogs will travel to Saint Rose Sunday for a
makeup game with the Golden Knights in Albany, NY.
In the opener, the Bulldogs scored three runs in the top of the
first and added three more in the sixth to push out in front,
7-1. Nick Campbell went 2-for-4 with 2 runs
scored and 3 RBIs. Pat O'Connor went 2-for-4
with 3 runs scored plus 2 RBI and blasted his sixth home run of the
season. Taylor Ferguson had a strong day at
the plate, going 3-for-4 as the Bulldogs cranked out 13 hits in the
game.
In the second, Bryant trailed the Greyhounds 2-1 after six
innings but a four-run seventh plus six more runs in the eighth
broke the game wide open and the Bulldogs were able to complete the
sweep. Campbell continued to swing a hot bat the plate, going
a perfect 5-for-5 with 2 runs scored. Brett
Almeida got the win going six innings and striking out
four.
