#7 Bryant Softball Takes a Pair From Merrimack
The Bryant University Softball team, who is ranked seventh in
the recent regional rankings, took two games from Merrimack on
Tuesday. The Bulldogs won the first game 2-0 and followed with a
5-0 win in game two. Bryant is now 15-13 overall and 13-3 in the
Northeast-10 Conference.
Sophomore Janine Enos (Wareham, MA) threw a
complete game shutout for the Bulldogs picking up the 2-0 victory
in game one. Enos scattered six hits while striking out three. The
offense by Bryant came in the top of the fifth when they struck for
two runs on a leadoff homerun by freshman Kate Thomas
(Bedford, NH) and a run thanks to a pass ball.
In game two, the Bulldogs had another great performance by
junior Nikki Ingalls (Westford, MA). She tossed a
complete game shutout surrendering just three hits while striking
out two. The reigning Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Week has been on
a roll lately not allowing an earned run over her last four games
spanning 21 innings. Junior Lindsay Connor (West Haven, CT) led the
Bulldogs attack in game to going 3-4 with a run scored.
Bryant scored three runs in the top of the third and added two
more in the top of the seventh to earn their sixth consecutive
conference win.
The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday, April 20 when they
will host Pace at 3:00pm at the Bryant Softball Complex.
