Men’s Lacrosse Beats Pace 13-5

Bulldogs Defeat Pace 13-5 Monday Afternoon

SMITHFIELD, RI – The Bryant University men's lacrosse team beat Northeast-10 Conference foe Pace 13-5 in game played today at Bulldog Stadium.  With the win Bryant improves to 8-5 overall and 7-2 in Northeast-10 play while Pace drops to 4-9 overall and 3-7 in conference.

Bryant would use a big first half to secure the win outscoring Pace 4-0 in the first quarter and 6-1 in the second. The Bulldogs got the scoring going when Craig Buckhout (South Salem, NY) notched an unassisted goal two minutes in.

Jesse Rose (Port Jefferson, NY) would then net Bryant's next two goals, first taking an Adam Smith (Bainbridge Island, WA) pass and blasting a shot past the Setters goalie. Rose's second also came off an assist that time from Andrew Serge (Albany, NY). Smith would finish off the Bulldog attack in the first quarter netting the final goal.

The second quarter saw Serge net two goals, with Jason Zilewicz (Longmeadow, Mass.) finding the back of the net for two, and got single goals from Smith and Bill Palacino (Smithtown, NY) and never looked back.

Smith finished the game with three goals and an assist while Zilewicz added three goals.  Pace was led by Kenneth Lysik who had four goals.

Bryant will return to action Wednesday when the Bulldogs host Franklin Pierce in a Northeast-10 Conference game slated for a 4:00PM start at Bulldog Stadium.
