FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The Bryant Cross Country team opened its season at the Adelphi Panthers XC Invitational in Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, N.Y., on Friday, September 4. Bethpage State Park will be the site of the 2026 NCAA Cross Country Northeast Regional on Friday, November 13.
The Women's team finished with 82 points, good for fourth out of 17 schools in the 6K race. Freshman
Natalie Persson led the way for the Bulldogs, finishing fourth overall with a time of 21:55.9. The Men's team was led in the 8K race by junior
Andrew McConnell (26:26.3) and freshman
Seb Melero (26:26.40, who finished 24
th and 25
th respectively.
All five Bryant Women's runners finished in the top 35, with seniors Isabel Beradino (22:59.1) and Kelly MacElhiney (23:06.8) finishing back-to-back in 14
th and 15
th place. Junior Norah Puelo placed 17
th with a time of 23:17.9, and sophomore
Nikki Kroon placed 33
rd with a time of 23:56.6.
Like McConnell and Melero, Graduate Student
Aiden Masse (27:03.1) and sophomore
Jack Moir (27:03.2) also placed back-to-back, finishing the race in 32
nd and 33
rd place.
