QUEENS, N.Y. - The Bryant University women's volleyball team was swept by St. John's, 3-0, in its second match of the Jack Kaiser Volleyball Classic on Friday, Sept. 18 at Carnesecca Arena. The Bulldogs dropped to 5-10 with the loss while the Red Storm moved to 10-2.  

Kaitlin Curran posted a double-double of a team-high 11 kills and 11 digs, and Carrina Barron tallied 17 digs.  

 

"We played very well in the first set but ran out of steam in sets 2 and 3. Still trying out some different lineups. Hannah Jackson has been so steady along with Curran, and Kalia had a great defensive game. Career-high digs for Maddie." 

 

SET 1- St. John's, 25-21  

• Curran produced seven kills through the opening 25 rallies to give Bryant a 13-11 edge.  
• The Red Storm used a 6-1 surge to take a 17-14 lead.  
• St. John's outscored the Bulldogs by a point the remainder of the way to take the opening set.  

SET 2- St. John's, 25-8 

• A 6-0 run by the Red Storm fueled an early 11-3 advantage.  
• Back-to-back kills from Curran and Brookelyn Talmadge later brought Bryant down 19-7.  
• St. John's scored seven of the next eight points to clinch the set.  

SET 3- St. John's, 25-13  

• Kalia Alvarado notched a kill to give Bryant an early 5-4 lead.  
• After trailing 14-8, Jackson hammered down a kill and Curran delivered an ace to trim the Bulldog's deficit to four.  
• The Red Storm then mounted a 9-1 run to complete the sweep. 

• Curran has recorded 10-or-more kills in nine matches and six double-doubles this season.  
• Alvarado registered a near double-double of seven kills and 11 digs.  
• With 22 assists tonight, Madison Keem surpassed 450 career assists.  
• Natalie Ricevuto made her 2026 season debut.  

Bryant will face Penn Saturday, Sept. 19 at Carnesecca Arena in its third match and final of the Jack Kaiser Volleyball Classic. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
