NO. 10 MEN'S SOCCER BATTLES UMASS TO A 2-2 DRAW IN SEASON OPENER

Perez and Geho both scored their first Bryant goals

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The No. 10 Bryant Men's Soccer team opened its season with a 2-2 draw against UMass Thursday night at Beirne Stadium in Smithfield. With the draw, Bryant and UMass both move to 0-0-1 on the season.

The Bulldogs fell behind at two different points over the course of the match, before battling back to level the score both times.

After UMass opened the scoring in the first half, Angel Perez headed home an in-swinging free kick delivery at the top of the six-yard box to knot the teams at 1-1 in the 47th minute.

UMass scored again in the 78th minute, but the Bulldogs brought wave after wave of attacks until a foul on Fernando Guerrero in the box was awarded after a VAR review. Brady Geho stepped up to the spot and slotted home his first goal for the Black and Gold in the 85th minute.
