SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Incoming Bryant men's lacrosse freshmen defenders
Bear Martin and
Gunnar Higdon have been selected to the Haudenosaunee and Mexico National Teams at the inaugural Pan-American Men's Lacrosse Championship, set for Aug. 16-23 in Kingston, Jamaica.
Martin will play for the Haudenosaunee team, and Higdon will represent Team Mexico.
Martin has spent the last four years at Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, New Hampshire, where he played LSM and SSDM. Higdon played at Saint Valor and earned All-State honors and was named the Maverick Showtime Top Defender by Prep Lacrosse.
The nine-team tournament serves as a continental qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse Men's Championship in Japan, with the top five finishers punching their tickets to next year's world championship field.
