2026 WOMEN'S SOCCER SEASON PREVIEW

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The University women's soccer team kicks off the 2026 season on Sunday afternoon when it welcomes Stonehill to Beirne Stadium for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.

    The Bulldogs are coming off a season where they finished 5-5-8 overall and 2-2-4 in conference play. They qualified for the America East Tournament where they advanced to the semifinals for the first time in program history.
    
    "We've had a very successful preseason. Our team arrived at camp ready to work, and we've used these past few weeks to continue building our chemistry and preparing for the season ahead. We're excited to get started and begin our pursuit of an America East Championship." said by Coach Andy Biggs with excitement for the upcoming season.

Forwards:
Bryant graduated it's top two points leaders and goal scorers but return two players that finished with three goals and six points.
  • Caitlin Forshay will be back for her junior year after appearing and starting in all 18 games last season. Forshay found the back of the net three times in the 2025 season and has five goals in 36 career games.
  • Senior Samantha Zaslaw will also return to once again contribute to the offense. She recorded 20 shots and two goals for the Bulldogs last season.
  • As a freshman, Grayson Edwards played in all 18 games while starting in 13. She had one goal and two assists. Edwards' strong debut season earned her America East All-Rookie.
  • Nyema Prentice-Whyte returns for her junior season after appearing in 17 games (12 starts) last season with the Bulldogs.
  • Delaney Callahan is coming into her sophomore season after seeing action in four games while registering her first collegiate shot against UAlbany.
  • Ava Feeley, who appeared in 15 games last season, is returning to the Bulldogs for her senior year. She has recorded two goals and five points in 26 career games with the Black and Gold.
  • After missing the 2025 season, Alison Mokriski comes into her senior year. During her sophomore campaign, she appeared in 14 games and scored her first career goal.
  • Caroline Kennard will be heading into her junior season. Her last appearance was during her freshman year where she played in four games at Ball State.
Midfielders:
  • Sophomore Alisyn Mulholland played in 14 games in her rookie season, tallying four shots for the Bulldogs.
  • Lucia Edelstein is going into her sophomore season. Edelstein recorded 11 shots and scored one goal against Binghamton in her first collegiate season.
  • Junior Julia Salina appeared in all 18 games last season.  As a sophomore she had six shots with one on net.
  • Junior Lola Griffin recorded appearances in 13 games along with a shot in their game against Binghamton.
  • Addi Galante joins the Bulldogs as a freshman. She is joined by Leah Beaubien and Gwen Holland who will add versatility to the group as they can also play a defensive role.
  • Morgan Nelson, a sophomore transfer from UNC Upstate will be joining the Bulldogs this season. During her rookie season, Nelson scored a game winning goal, which would be her first collegiate goal.
Defenders:
  • The 2025 Bulldog defense had 10 shutouts last season, setting a school record for most shut outs in single season.
  • Senior defender Colleen Ardolino returns as one of the most experienced defenders after starting in 18 games and earning America East All-Conference Second Team. She also helped in the offense by scoring three goals, including the game tying goal against UMaine. Ardolino was named to the Preseason All-America East team.
  • Cassidy Moriarty will be heading into her sophomore season. During her rookie year, she appeared in all 18 games, making 13 starts. She played the full 90 minutes in eight games. Moriarty was named to the America East All-Rookie Team.
  • Whitney Vaillant is a junior for this season with the Bulldogs. Coming off an injury, she appeared in 11 games last season, recording an assist vs Binghamton.
  • Tatum Cordon is back with the Bulldogs for her senior year. Last season, Cordon played in 16 games and started 13 matches.
  • Laurence Leblanc is returning for her junior season after appearing in multiple games for the Black and Gold.
  • Senior Ashley Cunningham appeared in 11 games last season after being unable to finish her sophomore season due to injury.
Goalkeepers:
  • Shannon Mejia is in her senior season and aims to once again anchor the Bulldogs in goal. Last year, she played in 16 games with nine starts. Mejia had a career-high of eight saves at Rhode Island. She helped Bryant post 10 shutouts and ended the season with a save pct of .778. Mejia teamed with Selena Negron to help Bryant rank 44th nationally in goals against average (0.83).
  • Returning to Bryant, senior Lilian Gosselin and sophomore Emily Canseven will be joined by freshman Asia Leone.
