BRYANT COMES UP SHORT TO BOSTON UNIVERSITY

Smithfield, R.I. —  The Bryant women's soccer team fell to Boston University, 2-1, on Sunday, September 13 at Beirne Stadium in Smithfield, R.I.
 
With the loss, the Bulldogs move to 2-3-2 on the year. Bryant will return to action next Sunday, September 20th, when the Bulldogs travel to Dartmouth.

Boston University took an early 2-0 lead with goals in the 7th and 16th minutes. Lucia Edelstein cut the deficit to one in the 33rd minute, scoring her first goal of the season.

Coach Biggs' Comments:
 "The team showed a lot of character and fight to battle back to 2-1 today. It wasn't our best day in regard to the level of our passing, but we made it a game with  our determination and toughness and came close to tying the game with the quality of our free kicks and corners. In the end, we managed to hit the post once but came up a bit short of tying the game."

  • The Terriers grew their lead in the 16th minute when Kat Slott finished a rebound off the crossbar.

  • Shannon Mejia made a diving save in the 77th minute to help keep the the Terriers from growing their lead.
