Key Moment

How it Happened
  • Mason Holloway retired the first two Bulldogs of the game but ran into trouble as Ellis Garcia and Gavin Greger hit back-to-back home runs. Garcia drove his second home run of the day to deep left, while Greger swatted his first of the year to right center.
  • Bryant extended its lead in the third on a two-out double from Garcia. Irizarry opened the inning with a double to right center but was on third with two outs when Garcia doubled off the wall in right center.
  • Saul used his legs to extend Bryant's lead to 4-0 in the fourth. He was hit by a pitch, stole second, advanced to third on a ground out and then broke for home with an 0-2 count on Jacob Gaudreau. The Binghamton pitcher stepped off but the throw home was wild.
  • Irizarry pushed Bryant's lead to 5-0 with a leadoff home run in the seventh.
  • Binghamton had a rally in them in the seventh. A walk and a double opened the inning before a second walk loaded the bases. Braylen Gonzalez then chopped one over the mound for an RBI infield single before back-to-back bases-loaded walks made it 5-3. A ground out to third made it 5-4 and Popoff gave Binghamton the lead with a double inside the third-base bag. Kent capped the inning with a two-run home run to left.
  • Saul got one back quickly as he led off the eighth with home run to left. Jacob Gaudreau added his third of the season two batters later to make it a one-run game.
  • In the ninth, Garcia doubled with two outs but the Bulldogs could not bring him home.
