BOSTON, MASS. - Laniya Lewis of the Bryant University softball team was named the America East Player of the Week by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.

Lewis was vital in the series victory over Binghamton. She finished the series with a .571 average, .857 slugging percentage, a triple and two RBI. She had a standout weekend in centerfield, including a double play where she threw out the runner at first base from left center. Lewis is hitting .429 in conference play with a 1.252 OPS.

This is the first time in her career she has received this award, and the third consecutive week the Bulldogs have received a weekly award.
