SMITHFIELD, R.I. –
Ty Davis struck out a career-high six and the Bryant baseball team scored eight times in the third inning to earn an 11-1 run-rule victory over Holy Cross on Tuesday afternoon at Conaty Park.
With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 9-8 overall and 4-1 in their eight-game homestand. Bryant will play Dartmouth on Wednesday at Conaty Park. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.
Bryant trailed 1-0 early but scored eight times in the third to earn its fifth win its last six games.
Davis twirled his second-straight midweek gem, striking out a career-high six.
Cam Papetti,
Ellis Garcia and
Hunter Kingsbury all homered to pace the Bryant offense. Kingsbury finished a double shy of the cycle, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

How it Happened
- Holy Cross grabbed the lead in the second, executing a 1st-and-3rd play. Bryant threw to second and the runner from third was able to score during the ensuing rundown.
- Bryant broke through in the third, scoring eight runs on six hits. Papetti opened the inning with a home run as he lifted a 1-2 pitch to right that caught the wind and carried out for a home run. Irizarry and Wensley followed with back-to-back doubles to make it 2-1 and Garcia launched a two-run home run to dead center.
- Saul made it five-straight hits to start the inning as he tripled to left center and Greger walked to put two on. Kingsbury then hit a towering three-run home run to right field – the first of his career – to make it 7-1. Mike Fiatarone completed the inning as he drove in a run with a ground out.
- Bryant added a pair of runs in the sixth as Brandyn Durand tripled and scored on a balk before a fielder's choice made it 10-1.
- The Bulldogs completed the run-rule victory with a run in the seventh. Kingsbury tripled to start the inning and Alejandro Vazquez ripped a walk-off double to left center.
