How it Happened
  • Binghamton jumped out quick on Saturday, scoring two runs in the first four batters of the game. Braylen Gonzalez opened the game with a double and scored on a Bolton double. Steven Kraus singled through the right side to make it 2-0.
  • Bryant answered with a run in the bottom of the first as Casey Wensley walked and scored from first on a two-out double from Greger.
  • Binghamton extended its lead to 3-1 in the third on an obscure play. After a wild pitch advanced the runner to third, Gaudreau used part of his facemask to corral the ball, allowing the runner to move home on a catchers balk.
  • Gaudreau made up for it in the fourth. Greger singled up the middle and Kingsbury beat out an infield single to put two on. Bouchard got a strikeout and was ahead of Gaudreau 1-2 but Gaudreau drilled the next offering over the wall in right center for his first home run at Conaty Park.
  • Binghamton looked to respond, loading the bases with two outs in the top of the fifth against Dylan Scudder. Vining, however, entered from the bullpen and struck out Bolton on three pitches.
  • Bryant added a run in the fifth as Garcia doubled on a ball that was lost in the sun by Bolton in center and scored on a two-out single from Kingsbury.
  • From there, Vining allowed just two baserunners, a walk and a single in the eighth, to finish it out.
