BOSTON -- Brynat men's basketball freshman Ty Tabales was named the America East Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Tabales posted 21 points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists in Bryant's lone game last week. It is the fourth rookie of the week honor for Tabales this season.

The Worcester native recorded his second-straight 20-point effort against Binghamton on Thursday, going 5-of-9 from beyond the arc. Tabales has now posted 21 points in each of the last two games, becoming just the sixth freshmen in DI program history with back-to-back 20-point games.

Bryant plays a pair of games this week, beginning Thursday at league-leading UMBC. The Bulldogs will host NJIT for Senior Day on Saturday.
